10.6.6 Client Can't Start From NetRestore Image

When deploying a NetRestore image that was created from a Mac OS X v10.6.6 source disk, the NetRestore target computer may begin to start but then shut down.

    Products Affected

    Mac OS X Server 10.6

Copy the CommerceKit framework from the Mac OS X v10.6.6 source disk to the NetRestore image.

These instructions use an example NetInstall image named "10.6.6 NetInstall" stored on your server's boot drive, created from a source disk connected to your server named "10.6.6 Source". You will need to adjust the paths in the commands below to apply to your NetInstall image and source disk.

    1. Open Terminal (in the Utilities folder).
    2. Execute this command to mount the NetInstall image. Remember to replace the path (italicized below) with yours if it differ
hdiutil attach -owners on -noverify /Library/NetBoot/NetBootSP0/10.6.6\ NetInstall.nbi/NetInstall.dmg
    3. Execute this command to copy the CommerceKit framework from the source disk to the Netinstall image (again, replace the path as needed). Important: This command must be entered on one line.
      sudo ditto /Volumes/10.6.6\ Source/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CommerceKit.framework /Volumes/NetInstall/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CommerceKit.framework
    4. Eject the mounted NetInstall image.
